I spent the majority of my time this morning praying for people and various ministries. What struck me was that we all have so many needs. Who is not appreciative of someone praying for them?
As I wrapped up reading Job today I realized part of his discouragement was not only the great loss and pain he suffered, but simply the fact that he had nobody he could turn to that would offer true encouragement. Not only did his friends offer bad counsel, I do not remember anyone ever praying for him.
We all appreciate prayer because it points us towards hope. We all need hope but unfortunately, we do not all place our hope in the God who created us.
The Take-Away. As we pray for others, let’s not only pray for their needs (the needs are plenty). We must also pray that they will turn their faces towards a God who loves them. Our hope in God is not a hope that disappoints!
