As I was praying “Your will be done,” the issue of submission came to mind. Submission often carries a negative connotation with it. It may be forced (like the image of the fighters) and it may come with abuse. But with Jesus, submission involves a warranted trust in Him. God not only wishes to teach us and help us, He also knows that His path is the perfect one for our lives.
We want our will, and that’s because our will often focuses on immediate and/or worldly issues (e.g., a better paying job will solve the problem). But we must come to the place where we submit to God’s will and trust Him. “Lord, help me place my life in Your hands. Help me when I’m impatient and restless. Let me see the reward of making Jesus Lord.”
