“Do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. … Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap, nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?” (Matt 6:25-26).
I’ve never been much of a worrier. But I say this while, in prayer this morning, I sit and worry about financial issues. I pray with stress mounting and uncertainty looming. And yet my mind comes back to the words of my Lord.
In times of difficulty we often turn to many places. All the time, however, God must wonder why we simply do not turn to Him alone. We are worth more than we give ourselves credit for. “Jesus, help me remember Your words, have faith in them and see the reality of them. Let me tell of Your faithfulness and be a testimony to others.”
